Would appreciate denial or confirmation that my great-great-grandfather, J.M. CLARK (Joe, I think) Left his family in Wood County for the Civil War and returned to Hunt County to start a new family. According to census records, J. M. CLARK was born about 1824 in North Carolina. I believe he married his first wife, Eliza Jane GREER in Nacodogches in 1843. They had Catherine CLARK in 1845 and Susan CLARK in 1847. Eliza died before the l850 Nacogdoches Census. The Clarks lived with Alexander GREER, Eliza's father I believe, in l850. By l860, J. M. has remarried to Mary Jane BOYD (21). They have three more children: Will A CLARK, Mary Eudorah (Dora) CLARK (my great-grandmother) , and Rosamond CLARK. Susan is 14 and Catherine is married to R. JOHNSON. They have an infant son. Also living in the household are Wm. Clark, his wife and his children. I think Wm. was his brother. By now, their part of Nacogdoches County has become Wood County. J.M. disappears after that. We have been told he either l) Went off to the Civil War and never returned; 2) Died in the measels epidemic which killed his wife and orphaned his children; 3) Returned from the Civil War and started a new family in Hunt County. Willl A. became a doctor in Cumbie, Wood County, Texas. Mary Eudorah married John Marshall Harris and lived her life in Point, Rains County, Texas. I believe Susan lived in Sulphur Springs, Hopkins County, (Don't know whom she married) and Rosamond lived in Gilmer, Upshur County (Don't know whom she married). I think Catherine was widowed and, along with Alexander GREER, raised the children. I believe Catherine's infant son was named Joseph JOHNSON. Thanks for any help.

I am searching for the burial place of my gggrandfather WIllis ASHLEY, who died in Rockwall Co., Feb. 1892. He had gone to TX with a family named SISK. The family notified his family in AR when he died, saying he was buried in a rural cemetery. I have found out there are some Sisks buried in Mt. Zion cemetery that I think could be part of the family he was with. It is also possible that if his grave is marked it could be James Ashley.

I am looking for info about one Lillian Margaret AUSTIN who married Samuel JORDAN in Rockwall County on 27 Dec 1876. I would like to know the specifics concerning her date of birth, as well as date and place of death.
