Renis I. Trahan

Renis I. Trahan, 81, of Mauriceville, died Sunday, January 4, 2004, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2004, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City. The Rev. Jessie Wright of Old Faith Chapel in Vidor will officiate. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Trahan was born in Maurice, La., and was in the Navy where he served in World War II. He lived in Bridge City where he was a retired carpenter, and also had worked at Guidry Enterprises. For the past nine years, he had lived in Mauriceville and attended the Old Faith Chapel in Vidor.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy McDaniel Trahan of Mauriceville; stepmother, Bernice Trahan of Lake Jackson, Texas; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Holley Trahan of Bridge City, Mike and Beverly McDaniel of Orange and Martin and Ramona McDaniel of San Antonio, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Johnny Welch of Bridge City, Susan and John Hart of Mauriceville, Shirley and Joey Walker of Orangefield; daughter, Donna McDaniel of Mauriceville; sister, Verlin Gerard of Lake Jackson, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be John Hart, Johnny Welch, Joey Walker, Jess Walker, Branden Welch, Justin Mulhollan, Shane Trahan and Richard Gerard.
