Derek Prejean, 22, life long resident of Orange, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2006 in Mauriceville. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 24 at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange with Pastor Johnny Harrison of First Christian Church in Sour Lake officiating. Cremation will be under the direction of Claybar Haven of Rest Crematory. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Derek was born June 16, 1984 in Beaumont to Norman Anthony and Jackie (Ball) Prejean. He worked as a bellman at The Delta Down's Hotel and Casino in Vinton Louisiana and was a 2002 LCM high school graduate. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Mary Ball and Emick and Ida Prejean. He is survived by his parents, Norman and Jackie Prejean of Orange; sister, Renee Prejean of Lake Charles, Louisiana and brother, Devin Prejean of Orange. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Harrison, Kevin Martin, Jonathan Saunders, Aaron Jones, Spencer Brown and Devin Prejean.
