Orville Taylor “Bud” Conner

Orville Taylor “Bud” Conner, 72, died peacefully at home in Bridge City surrounded by love of God and family, July 15, 2006. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Bob Boone and Reverend David Green. Burial will follow at Greenlawn cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. O.T. “Bud” was born in San Angelo to John Riley Conner and Thelma Marie Taylor Conner September 26, 1933. Bud lived in Eldorado until graduation from high school. He joined the Army and was honorably discharged as Corporal in 1955. He came to Port Arthur and worked at Neches Butane and then later at Firestone where he retired as Process Control foreman in 1996 after 36 years. He was an avid hunter and jokester. He was of Methodist faith and he loved people of all walks; bar-b-ques and family get togethers. He will leave a big void in the lives of many. “Bud” was preceded in death by his father, J.R. Conner; mother, Thelma Cerami; stepfather, Johnny Cerami and his beloved Mimmi and Granddad. He is survived by his wife, Doris Conner of Bridge City; son, Mark Conner of Groves; son and daughter-in-law, Barron and Pam Vincent of Lake Jackson; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Keith Foster of Mont Belvieu. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Logan and Shandi Conner, Heather and Kaylee Vincent, Tanner and Jordan Foster; brother and sister-in-law, Clifford James and Fae Conner of Lockhart; sister-in-law and husband, Betty & Dr. Lowie Rice of Conroe; nephews, Chris Conner and Michelle of Jonestown, Bryan Conner & Nicole of Corpus Christi and niece, Beryl Jones & Joe of Conroe. Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Dionne, Ray LeBlanc, Bill Ricks, Dan Hebert, Jimmy Beard, Wayne Hebert, Sam White and Bill Reed. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Meeks, Dan Dumas, Jimmy Seitz, Larry Rice, Virgil Bird, Joe Allen and Gene Hidalgo, Rusty Quigley, Don Peters and Kenneth Horn.
