Willie J. Newman age 73 of Bridge City, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2005 at his residence. He was a native of Goodpine, Louisiana born October 8, 1932 and was a former resident of Nederland. He retired from Local # 195 as a Pipe fitter and was a veteran of the U.S. Marines. He was also a former member of the Nederland Masonic Lodge A F & A M #1368. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Newman of Bridge City; two daughters, Jeannie Adams and husband, Randy of Bridge City, Sherry Burnaman and husband, Joey of Mauriceville; one son, James Bruce Newman of Groves; six grandchildren, Sgt. Christopher Adams, Kelli Corkran, James Ryan and Rachel Newman, Colby and Katey Burnaman; three great grandchildren, Kiegan and Kaydance Corkran, Kiersten Adams. Also surviving are four brothers, C. C. Newman, Darrell Newman, Glenn Newman, Robert Newman and one sister, Barbara Gilbert. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5-8 pm Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at Broussard's Mortuary 505 12th. St. in Nederland. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Thursday, November 3, 2005 at Broussard's Nederland Chapel with Reverend Lynn Ashcraft officiating. Entombment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
