Betty Blanchard Lormand, 74, of Bridge City, died Thursday, November 24, 2005, at her daughter's residence in Baytown. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2005, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Jim McClintock, pastor of St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City. Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 7:00 p.m. Saturday and throughout the day on Sunday. The rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Lormand was born in Port Arthur and had lived in Bridge City since 1953. She retired from Insurance Concepts where she was a secretary and commercial customer service representative. She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, the Business and Professional Women's Club of Bridge City and the Rainbow Art League in Bridge City. Mrs. Lormand was preceded in death by her parents, Otto P. Blanchard and Gertrude (Broussard) Blanchard Reneau, and her son, Cary W. Lormand, Sr. She is survived by her husband, Curney W. Lormand, Sr. of Bridge City; son, Curney W. "Bubba" Lormand, Jr. and his wife Kathy of Gist; daughter, Denise A. Hagee and her husband Jack of Baytown; daughter-in-law, Cecilia Lormand Miley; grandson, Cary W. Lormand, Jr. and his wife Anna of Waco; brother, Gene J. Blanchard and his wife Joann, of New Braunfels.
