Announcements for Milam County

Current Projects for Milam County

Right now, I am working on adding information and uploading photos to the Vogelsang Cemetery.  I have all photos taken of tombstones and am adding them to the link for Vogelsang Cemetery located on the Cemetery page under "V".  I am currently working on the connections of those buried in Vogelsang Cemetery since all individuals buried there are related in one form or the other or have roots to the Vogelsang Community.

I will also be adding all photos of the Clarkson Cemetery of pictures I took in December of 2006.  I have all pictures of the tombstones and Clarkson Baptist Church to be added.  I also have pictures of Oak Hill Cemetery and Ben Arnold Cemetery.

Lots of additions are coming soon to the Cemetery section, so please check back often!  If you need photos of a tombstone, please let me know if it has not been published on this site.

The TXGenWeb Project - New Search Tool

The TXGenWeb Project now has an even better search tool!
Researchers can now search all counties in Texas in the TXGenWeb Project for ancestors, records, etc with just one search!

To check out the new search tool, please click here.  The USGenWeb Project has a search tool as well one for all states and counties in the USGenWeb Project.  So, instead of going by individual states to search, researchers will be able to search all states for ancestors - now that's convenient!

Genealogical Seminars, Reunions, Cemetery Meetings

Do you have a genealogical seminar, reunion or cemetery meeting coming up?  Well, why not let everyone know about it!
Spread the word with the TXGenWeb Project.  This is a great tool to announce seminars, cemetery meetings, historical & genealogical society meetings as well as reunions.  This is a one stop source to keep all informed.

Just email Elaine Martin, Assistant TXGenWeb State Coordinator, and she will add the information to let everyone know!  Please, include details:  name of meeting or event, where & when.

For a list of genealogical seminars, reunions and cemetery meetings, please check out Seminars & Events in Texas.

Lost Cousins Web Site

Lost Cousins is a free site that offers information and a way for researchers to find new cousins.  This site is free with basic membership and a subscription service for a fee of 10£ (pounds).
This site is based in the UK.

Researchers look for their family using the 1880 U.S. Census, provided free by Family Search (Church of Latter Day-Saints) as well as the 1881 Canadian Census and 1881 England Census.
Since the census is used, researchers can find direct descendants or blood relatives.  The site is easy to use and for a promotional period from now to July 4, 2007, all information will be free.

For more information on Lost Cousins or to register, please click here.
