Tomek, 87 of Cameron died Friday, March 09, 2007 in a Cameron hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Marak with Rev. Walter Matus, Rev. Robert Herald and Rev. Chris Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery. Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home. Mr. Tomek, a retired farmer and rancher, was born May 10, 1919 in Cameron to Frank and Annie (Chernosky) Tomek. He married Hattie Grygar. Mr. Tomek was a member of St. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church and K. J. T. Seven siblings preceded him in death. Survivors include: His wife, Hattie Tomek of Cameron; Sons, Steve Tomek of Cameron, Michael Tomek & wife Tammy of Cameron, and Joseph Tomek of Cameron; Daughter, Irene Kaulfus & husband Ronald of Gatesville; Brothers, Frank Tomek of Houston, Charlie Tomek of Cameron, Clem Tomek of Cameron, and Eugene Tomek of Cameron; Sisters, Mary Hall of San Antonio, Dorothy Kincer of Wharton, and Rosalie Leonard of Texas City; 5 Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, also survive.
