1. Clifford Nolen
(my grandfather)
2. Hiram and Ethel Mcalister Crow, Jim McAlister and Annie Griggs,
Alvin and Daisy Crow, and Sam and Ina Fowler. Jan. 2, 1907
Hiram and Alvin are brothers. Annie Griggs (b.1883 or 1884 and d.1907) is my grandmother's older sister. Annie and Jim are the second couple from the left. This photo has the studio label of J.L. Young ALVORADO TEX.
3. My grandmother, Maggie Griggs, is on the top row, second from the left. On the other side of the tall girl on the same row, is one of Maggie's sisters, Ethel. Directly in front of Maggie is my grandfather, Clifford Nolen.
4. My great uncle, Raymond Griggs, is on the back row between the two windows with his head turned a bit to his right and wearing a horizontal striped tie. On the row in front of him, my great aunt, Ida Griggs, is wearing a dark dress. I have no clues as to the reason for this photo. Perhaps a reunion?
5. Maggie Griggs is sitting on the bench, the fourth girl from the left.
I've been told that the Cotton Valley is the name of the school.
