The Nancy Thompson Cemetery

Located across the road from the Nickell Cemetery in far south west Johnson County is this single grave.

Nancy Ann Lathan was born in North Carolina on the 28th of January 1844.  She was in Parker County, Texas before 1860.  She married Edward Anderson Paschall some time in 1862 and had a daughter in 1863.    

Edward Paschall was killed in the Civil War, and after the Civil War ended, Nancy married Burlin Monroe Thompson, a survivor of that war, on December 20, 1866 in Parker County, Texas.

Later, she and her growing family can be found in the church records of the, now named, New Hope Baptist Church in far south west Johnson County.  Here she died and was buried.
